Established in 2002, the Washtenaw Health Project is a nonprofit organization partnering with the Washtenaw County government, Trinity Health system, and Michigan Medicine to serve Washtenaw County residents. Washtenaw Health Project enhances access to affordable healthcare and coverage by addressing barriers to care. With a multilingual team, they connect people living in the county to health coverage and social services, and use their expertise to assess eligibility for complex cases. Certified Navigators, Application Counselors, and Marketplace Assisters facilitate enrollment in Medicaid and Marketplace plans for all individuals. The Washtenaw Health Project provides a safety net for those ineligible for health insurance. Operating on the principle of holistic care, Washtenaw Health Project's Community Health Workers collaborate closely with clients to address obstacles such as transportation challenges, medical expenses, and disabilities, ensuring they receive comprehensive care every step of the way
"MI Community Care has allowed the WHP to host three community health workers to support MiCC clients and care managers. The addition of the CHWs to WHP staff has brought a new ability to be able to serve clients in a deep and sustained manner." - Kelly Stupple | Washtenaw Health ProjectVisit Website
